2011 Claims Conference & Insurance Services Expo
In Nashville for the 2011 Claims Conference, and excited at the prospects for the day. The program looks very promising with speakers and exhibitors from across the industry.
I’m looking forward to walking the exhibit floor and visiting with people I know and meeting new people. I have also signed up for a number of educational sessions and am interested to learn about a variety of subjects including claims quality, good faith claims handling, home contents, delivering outstanding service, and new research related to water damage. I will look forward to sharing that information with our team when I get back.
Looking through the program I was taken by which companies are attending and with how many people, and which aren’t. While there is an excellent turn out of over 1000 attendees and exhibiters, I would have expected more. Given all of the challenges and opportunities in claims handling, and the amount of premium dollars spent on indemnifying policyholders and the associated claims costs, I would have thought that there would be more attendees.
As I mentioned in a prior post, my colleague and I are co-presenting this afternoon (and Wednesday) I will be making our slides available after the conference for anyone who is interested.
